Biomedal receives an Award of Excellence from media group Joly and banking group Caixa for outstanding Andalucian SMEs.
In Seville on May 25th, banking corporation Caixa and leading media group Joly delivered prizes for their second annual Awards of Excellence in Andalusian SEMs. After evaluating the 65 applications received, the judges decided to award five SEMs in Andalusia, selecting each for their spirit of entrepreneurship and involvement in regional economic development.
Biomedal received the award in the category of Health, Welfare and Biotechnology, marking it as one of the most efficient Spanish companies seeking for basic research conducted in public research centers and abroad.
A group of Israeli Scientists from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (Haifa, Israel) has obteined important results using Biomedal´s "Anti-GSTT1 kit".
A group of Israel Scientists from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (Haifa, Israel) has obtained important results using BIOMEDALl´s "Anti-GSTT1 ELISA Kit" in studies involving blood sera from children with congenital hemoglobinapathies that received a bone marrow transplantation.
The group has successfully expanded the potential applications of this kit, initially developed for diagnosing and monitoring liver graft rejection caused by a de novo autoimmune hepatitis. They have demostrated that after a bone marrow transplantation, the detection of anti-GSST1 antibodies in patients that are null for the GSTT1 gene may be predictive of granft rejection, thus allowing to control and adjust the immunosuppressive therapy.

Biomedal has reached an agreement with Yeastern Biotech co ltd.
Biomedal will distribute in Spain all Yeastern Biotech products. This agreement will allow Biomedal to amplify its molecular biology catalogue and offer its clients innovative products with an outstanding quality.
In the first phase, Biomedal will launch the “UniversALL tissue PCR kit” a rapid and user friendly kit to extract and amplify genomic DNA. This kit can be used for any kind of cells and tissues and is particularly convenient for resistant cells where DNA extraction and amplification if difficult.
