Sevilla, 27 February 2013. Biomedal has increased its food analysis service for the detection and quantification of horse meat in food due to the fact that many companies are currently interested in such study.
Biomedal offers Real-time PCR analysis for horse meat detection but also semi-quantification of 7 types of different animal species in food including horse, beef, pig, goat, sheep, turkey and chicken.

Biomedal Diagnostics, the Biomedal SL division specialized in human health, has increased its sales by over 50% in 2012 over the previous year, despite the current economic climate. The internationalization of the company is key in this result. The export has doubled compared to the year before, having customers in more than 40 countries in all five continents. The company also strengthened its international presence, opening in mid-2012 its first international delegation in the state of New Jersey in the USA. Launching of a new in-vitro diagnostic kit for human diagnostic is among the relevant plans for 2013.
Sevilla, 04 May 2012. Biomedal S.L. has come to an agreement with the Italian company InCura Srl for the exclusive distribution of InCura´s innovative Agrofood portfolio in Spain
The new agreement empowers Biomedal to sell InCura’s products nationwide and to complement the existing portfolio on gluten detection (GlutenTox) with new solutions for the detection and quantification of the main food allergen such as soy, peanut, milk, egg, sesame, hazelnut etc. With this new agreement Biomedal also takes the opportunity to launch a new line of products for GMO and pathogen detection such as legionella and anisakids.

Sevilla, 04 May 2012 Biomedal adds to its portfolio a new method to detect the presence of Anisakis in fish products
Anisakids is a parasite that is found in fish, anisakids larvae may go active in the human digestive system by eating raw or undercooked contaminated fish. Human anisakiasis is a public health problem whose incidence is increasing in recent years, preventive measures to control the disease are therefore required.
From the regulatory point of view on the control of Anisakidae, EU Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 states that fishery products must be subjected before sale to a visual inspection of endoparasites and should not be marketed for human consumption any fishery products that are obviously contaminated with parasites.
Anisakis Kit Real-Time PCR can detect the presence of Anisakis spp Pseudoterranova in fishery products in both fresh and processed products, this is a quick and reliable way for the control and prevention of Anisakids contamination that can be applied to any fishery product regardless of the degree of processing it has undergone.
With this agreement, Biomedal becomes the exclusive distributor in Spain of the kits developed by the Italian company InCura.
